World Cup Final

Sunday, July 09, 2006
I congratulate Italy on their win of the World Cup, but France deserved the win more than Italy. This was an excellent match to watch, and both teams played exceptionally well. I was surprised that both teams scored in the first 20 minutes and then nothing from then on (minus Italy's offiside goal). Thierry Henry played really really really well. He had a few break aways, it's just that he was not able to pass to other teammates.
France has gone a long way since the beginning of the tournament. They scored their first goal since they victory of the World Cup in 1998 to ending second in the finals.
Italy had the advantage because they have a better team. They have a better goalie and coach. But France was able to keep the match going into two overtimes.
I do not understand what Zidane did but I am sure he has a good explanation. Zidane is an honourable person and is said to be a gentleman. He head-butted Matarzzi(or wtv his name is) because he did something to him. Either a bad insult, or tapped him in the shoulder where Zidane hurt himself at the begginning of the match. If Zidane had not received the red card, I am more than positive that France would have taken the cup either during shoot-outs or during over time. And no Zidane does not suck, he is an incredible football player and is one of the best in history. I do not understand why so many people hate him. I guess they are just jealous.
I thought that Italy's Totti would have scored but no it was another player who headed it in the net. He tried two other times but failed.
Overall good match. Like I had guessed it was spectacular to watch. This was like a good book, it kept you on tenderhook.

World Cup

Friday, July 07, 2006
While at kamp, i made sure i knew what was going on with the World Cup. At first i was rooting for Brazil (my all time favourite), they played mediocerly at the beginning and then played strong towards the end until there defeat against France. Once Brazil was out i was rooting for Germany(they played really well throughout the tournament), until Italy beat them. Now I am rooting for France. France played pretty well keeping in mind that they scored their first goal since their victory of the cup since '98. I also really like Zidane and the finals of the World Cup this year will be Zidane's last game it would be really sweet if he ended his career by winning the World Cup. Italy is really lucky they made it to the finals. They scored their goal against Australia(this is the first time that they have paricipated in the World Cup), because a referee gave Italy a penalty kick when in fact there was no penalty. Then Totti scored while he was "injured". I give props to Australia because they almost made it to the quarter-finals if it werent for the penalty that was given to them. I am hoping the France will take it, they really deserve it. I think it will be a spectacular game to watch.

So today I cam back from my first session of Kamp Kanwana. I had fun. The weather was mediocre. It was raining for half the week and sunny for the other half and i think its going to be like that for the other half, and supposedly its going to be that way for the next session. Kamp is really shitty when its raining. I went on a 5 day trip and i will say that will be my last one. it was a really fun trip. i hit all the nice spots in Papineau-Labelle. I went on the Fire Tower which is a tower made of metal bars thats over 100 feet tall. It was declared unsafe in the 60's. the tower was used by rangers to find forest fires. and i did acapulco again. and i hit chrystal beach and then hit some waterfalls. I also did a 4-hour trekk in shit, literally. i went where no man has gone before i ate some good food minus the currie rice. it couldve of been more enjoyable if my tent wasnt so lazy. my tent wasnt so bad ... i was with two people from my old tent and with trystan, i also ended up with 4 spaniards which was kinda fun. yeah i hit up like all the girls there it was really nice. the dance was really good. kk surpassed themselves this year. the music was pretty good. but they didnt play HIPS DONT LIE-bastards. all kamp was shitty like usual. i wont say shitty but corny. the food vastly improved. except sometimes there isnt enough food which really sucks. so yeah ... im gonna post some more stuff later like WORLD CUP and other stuff.
